What if I told you there's an option to have Pizza, but without the guilt? Most calories, fats, salts and sugars come from the base of the pizza itself. This recipe replaces the dough with a healthier base, made from just plain Greek yogurt and flour - you’ll be surprised when you hardly taste the difference!
Put your flour into a large mixing bowl and make a well in the middle; pour the Greek yogurt into the middle and mix! Add a pinch of salt and sugar. The yogurt is very healthy and contains yeast to make it into dough as well as rise in the oven.
Once it has a doughy consistency, throw some flour down on a flat, clean surface and give it a quick knead, then roll out to the shape and size you want.
Once rolled out, bake in the oven for 5-6 minutes on around 180°C.
Whilst this is baking, pour your tin of chopped tomatoes into a pan ready to go on a medium heat. Add seasonings to taste and simmer in the pan.
If you’d prefer to skip this step, you can also buy chopped tomatoes in a tin/container with seasoning already added.
Once the base has been baking for 5-6 minutes, take it out and flip it over to the other side, then spread your tomato sauce on the base and sprinkle on the cheese and any other toppings you'd like, and put back in the oven for 5-6 minutes.
For healthy toppings, use low fat cheese and add your favourite vegetables! My favourites are spinach, onion, sweetcorn and peppers.
