Traditional Irish bread and super easy-to-make! Serve with soups and stew.
250 g Wholemeal flour
250 g Strong plain flour
1 tsp Bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp Salt
200 g Buttermilk
60 ml Warm water
25 g Melted butter

Sift the flours, salt and bicarbonate of soda into a bowl.

Make a well and add the buttermilk, warm water and melted butter.

Work the dough for 5 -7 minutes.

Mould into 2 round loaves and mark the top with a cross.

Bake at 200°C for 25 minutes.
When the bread is ready, it should make a hollow sound when tapped on the bottom.
